SUPPORT HUNGER HIKE!

HUNGER HIKE PROJECT
Join me and Team Fish River as we lace up our boots once again and hike miles with purpose! The Hunger Hike is a fundraising event where myself and Team Fish River walk or hike to raise money in support of the Fish River Rural Health Food Shelf. Every mile represents a step toward fighting food insecurity and ensuring local St. John Valley families have access to nutritious food.
Funds raised through this hike directly benefit the Fish River Rural Health Food Shelf, helping stock essential groceries and support neighbors in need throughout our rural communities. Join in on the cause and hike with me! Whether you hike one mile or many, your effort makes a meaningful difference.
Together, we can turn miles into meals and compassion into action.
Our Goal is to walk/hike 5000 miles!!!

Fish River Rural Health’s Food Shelf is working towards increasing access while removing barriers and eliminating food insecurities among our patient population in need, while improving their health and well-being through providing access to healthy and nutritious foods, community education and advocacy.
FRRH medical patients are screened for food security with Hunger Vital Signs routinely. This screening helps to keep FRRH informed of their patients’ nutritional levels. FRRH Food Shelf services are provided by an RN Care Team member who will address overall health and nutritious food options, in a clinic appointment setting.
FRRH Food Shelf is available to St. John Valley Residents at all of FRRH's clinics: Eagle Lake, Fort Kent & Madawaska.
The Fish River Food Shelf is made possible by employee payroll contributions, Community donations, fundraising, procurement of locally sourced food from local farmers and grocers, and Good Shepherd Food Bank. There is never a patient cost for this service. FRRH annually distribute more than 40,000 pounds of nutritious food to those who need it.
