SUPPORT BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
CLIMB TO OCTOBER PROJECT
Join me in supporting a great cause in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness! We all need to pause for a climb sometimes in our fast-paced lives. Throughout May-October 2025, I will do just that and attempt to walk/climb the distance of the Appalachian trail, encompassing roughly 2,200 miles extending between Springer Mountain in Georgia and Mount Katahdin in Maine. A portion of the sponsorship funds I raise will be donated to Fish River Rural Health’s “The Journey”- Cancer Support Group & Sarah's House (Holden). Cancer has impacted me personally, seeing family and close friends go through the difficult journey has been a humbling experience. I want to raise awareness by doing what I love the most, by climbing mountains and re-connecting with nature!

Firmly etched within their service communities, they’re known for their commitment to education, access to care, and its well-established powerful social support network the breast cancer support group, called The Journey.
The inception of The Journey was May 21, 2007, after patient requests to have a more focused group for women journeying through breast cancer, survivors, and co-survivors. The support group provides participants with breast related education, emotional support, and serves as a powerful source of healing. It is through the voices of patients/residents of the communities that the success stories of FRRH’s committed work are told.

The mission of Sarah’s House is to provide temporary lodging in a comfortable “home away from home” environment to cancer patients (and their caregivers) receiving treatments at Cancer Care. They serve a vast area for cancer treatment, and convenient lodging is essential for these people. At Sarah’s House, they provide not only an affordable place to stay, but a supportive and caring atmosphere centered around hope and healing. Referred guests are served with integrity and respect and without regard to financial resources.
